Building for dignity

Despite progress, there remains a gap in providing a dignified home life and livelihood, in Africa and the Indian subcontinent. GFN Solutions is building ventures to solve this gap.

Connect with Us

Millions of people remain under-served by products and services that fail to solve the problems they face every day. We leverage our 20 years of design experience to create practical solutions that enable an improved, dignified life for these communities.

The challenges we're solving

Dirty cooking

Cooking remains the most energy intensive activity for any household. Fossil fuels and dirty grids are still fuelling a large portion of this need. We are aiming to solve this at a household, commercial and an energy infrastructure level through our various ventures.

Last mile mobility

While road infrastructure has developed, mobility remains unaffordable and out of reach for a large percentage of households, hampering their access to better livelihoods. We aim to solve this through personal vehicles and the electricity infrastructure needed to support them.

We seek to solve these problems using three winning principles

Build trusted customer brands based on neighbourhood partnership

Simplify product development to make household costs as low as possible

Run frugal operations to avoid over-reliance on external financing

Our Ventures

Cooking on an induction cooktop at home

Building an affordable induction cooking platform

Working to deliver low-cost induction cooking for households. This is made possible by coupling ground up hardware development tuned to cooking behaviour with an innovative subscription based market model. Cooker models can work on the grid as well as off it, using a custom infrastructure that intelligently distributes energy use.

Enabling ethanol cooking for rural households

Bringing low-cost, affordable ethanol cooking to rural households. The solution is aimed at making household transition to a clean fuel as easy and effortless as possible, from a daily cooking and fuel purchase behaviour perspective. Access to fuel at close proximity to the customers is enabled by a safe, integrated fuel distribution backbone.
